LCC 2024 Spring Tutor Training – Registration

Welcome to the LCC 2024 Spring Tutor Training Registration Page! Registration is open for our 2024 virtual training through Monday, March 4. Here is some information about the training:

The LCC Spring Tutor Training will be held on Zoom on Saturday, March 9 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Mountain time. The Keynote Speaker during the opening session will be Kathryn Bauchelle of Literacy Texas. She is an expert in adult learner persistence. The title of her keynote presentation is “Making Them Want to Stay: Adult Learner Persistence.”

Following her talk from 9-9:45 there will be three concurrent sessions from 10-10:45, 11-11:45 and 12:00-12:45 with a closing session/activity from 12:45 to 1:00.

  • Simplifying Language to Improve Retention, Recruitment, Inclusion, and Trust (Lee Shainis)
  • Is my tutoring working? Formative Assessment to Evaluate Learning (Cara Messick)

  • Register today to save your place at the training.
  • The LCC Board is now working on finalizing the presenter schedule.
  • We will send you an email (the email you give in the registration form) about all the sessions with their Zoom links so you can decide which sessions to attend) around February 29.

This year, we are asking for financial support to pay the Keynote Speaker and all the presenters a stipend in thanks for their time and effort. LCC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit with an all-volunteer working board. All donations go directly to paying for Zoom accounts, training materials, development of programs, and maintenance of MailChimp and other digital tools to continue to link Colorado adult tutors, teachers, and administrators.

Suggested tax-deductible donations:

$25 – LCC Supporter Level – sponsor us at this level for a follow-up thank you email

$10 – LCC Foundational Level – sponsor us at this basic level and know you are helping us move forward with offerings for you!
