Volunteer with Adult Learners

The Literacy Coalition of Colorado wants to link you with an organization that provides classes or tutoring to adults learners in these areas:

  • ESL — English as a Second Language — classes or conversation groups for adults whose first language is not English.
  • Citizenship preparation — classes for immigrants preparing to take the test to become U.S. citizens.
  • ABE — Adult Basic Education — classes for native English speakers whose reading or math skills are below 7th grade level.
  • HSE — High School Equivalency test preparation (formerly GED) — classes for people preparing to take one of the high school equivalency tests — GED®, HiSET®, or TASC®.
