Hello! Do you remember how to calculate reading rate (speed)? Please refer to page 10 in your Reading Success booklet. In Exhibit 1:4 are two formulas: One for calculating oral reading speed and one for calculating silent reading speed.
Then, in Exhibit 1:5, there are formulas for calculating reading speed/rate for 25-word, 50-word and 100-word passages?
Did you calculate your own oral and silent reading speeds for practice. What did you learn from that?
Do you need assistance with comparing the reading speed of the adult you are tutoring to that of other adults?
